Slingshot
Indianapolis, Ind. — Three emerging life sciences firms have been chosen to present to local established businesses on Sept. 14 as part of a new Greater Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce initiative known as Slingshot.
A screening committee with expertise in business plans, economic development, leadership, management and strategic planning selected the following companies to present at the September luncheon:
-
OBS Medical (Oxford BioSignals)
Eli Lilly and Company, one of the partners of the program, will host the meeting. Slingshot will provide newer companies the opportunity to showcase their product or service before an audience of larger, established businesses. The presenters are guaranteed a meeting with the organizations viewing the presentations.
Steve Walker, President/Chairman/CEO of Walker Information and chairman of the program, said Slingshot would meet quarterly with a different theme determining the nature of the presenters. The December meeting will feature advanced manufacturing and logistics companies and will be hosted by Rolls-Royce.
"This is a way for us to try and give local companies a booster shot, accelerating their growth and creating the potential for our next Lilly or Wellpoint," said Roland M. Dorson, President, Greater Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce. "Giving new companies quicker inroads to potential customers can significantly increase their odds for long-term viability."
